LONE STAR LE MANS: FROM FRANCE TO TEXAS
Running annually since 1923, the Le Mans race in France is considered one of the most famous endurance races in the world. Known for testing racing teams’ endurance and efficiency, competitors must balance speed with the cars’ ability to run for 24 hours while withstanding mechanical damage. This race traditionally begins in the mid-afternoon and lasts through the night before finishing the next day. The team that is able to complete the greatest number of laps is declared victor.
For the second time, Circuit of the Americas (COTA) will host the Lone Star Le Mans race in Austin on September 19th through 20th. Up to 180 unique sports cars will be on track for the event, and fans will have unprecedented access to these legendary cars and drivers. Coming together to compete at the same track are the prestigious series FIA World Endurance Championship, the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and their support series.
In the true friendly Texan spirit, this event is kid friendly and full of fun for everyone! Come out and enjoy watching world-class racecar teams compete, and experience Austin’s unique food trucks, live music, a fireworks display, and more at the COTA racetrack!
